Collection Development

Collection Development is identified as one of the 5 key focus areas in the Library Strategic Plan. The University Library is “The learning hub of the University and a dynamic scholarly gateway”. To help realize this vision, the Library Strategic Plan puts forward a roadmap to achieving overall objectives in each of these key strategic areas.

In Collection Development, it is the Library’s objective to develop a collection to support the educational and research missions of the University, with particular emphasis on developing outstanding research collections to support high-quality research of international excellence. To achieve this objective, the Library has revamped and redistributed staff efforts to create a collection development mode targeted to fully utilizing the manpower resource and subject expertise of all professional librarians in the University Library.
