# - Some AV items have been restricted for in-house use only due to very high user demand, copyright restrictions, technical limitations or at the request of teaching staff.

§ Due for return one week before a new semester starts. All loans are subject to recall. Late returns are liable to fines.

* - Items may be renewed any number of times from the date of the initial check-out until the due date reaches the limit of the "maximum renewal period", if the item is not recalled or requested by another user. All loans are subject to recall. Late return are liable to fines.

¤ Renewal of term loan items is available 1 month before the term loan due date if no requests or recall on the items. Due date of successful renewals would be the next term loan due date. 

 

Library Notices

Due date reminder, overdue, recall, reservation pick-up, and other Library notices will be emailed to your personal email account provided.

Copiers, Printers, Scanners

Black & white photocopiers and printers can be found on all floors, while colour printers and scanners are located on 3/F. 3D printer, large format plotters, thermal binders, lamination services are also available at the Technical Support Desk in 4/F i-Space. Octopus cards are accepted for payment.

Group Discussion Areas

Group Study Zone 1 & 2 (G/F) are furnished with furniture for groups work. The Multipurpose Hall (P/F) and Research Lounge (5/F) are also available for quiet discussion.

Research Carrels

Over 130 individual research carrels are designated for your private study. Self-check carrels on the 3/F can be reserved in advance via iBooking System, while other carrels on the 4/F and 5/F are for loan on first-come-first-served basis at the Circulation Counter (P/F).

Current Awareness Centre

A lounge-type environment with easy access to new books on display, latest issues of popular magazines, daily newspapers, and PolyU Reads Collection.

LibCafe@PolyU

Need a break to refresh your mind? LibCafe provides you with a lively and stimulating atmosphere for social interaction and idea exchange. A wide selection of food, beverages and snacks are served at a discount.

Computers

Hundreds of PC workstations are provided for multi-purpose use on various floors. A number of iMacs and PCs with graphics software applications are available on the 3/F and 4/F. Many of them can be reserved one day in advance via iBooking System. Please note a Library Patron NetID is required for accessing Library Public PCs, please refer to NetID & NetPassword for details

Wi-Fi Services

A free Wi-Fi service by Wi-Fi.HK is provided to all visitors and the general public. To connect, please refer to this set-up instructions. Wi-Fi services provided by Y5Zone and PCCW are also available in the Library. Subscribers may now connect to the internet through those networks. Non-subscribers may purchase a day pass online for temporary use.

Off-campus Access

Selected e-resources can be accessed off-campus through the Library website with your Library patron NetID and NetPassword.
