Library Notices

Due date reminder, overdue, recall, reservation pick-up, and other Library notices will be emailed to your personal email account provided.

Copiers, Printers, Scanners

Black & white photocopiers and printers can be found on all floors, while colour printers and scanners are located on 3/F. 3D printer, large format plotters, thermal binders, lamination services are also available at the Technical Support Desk in 3/F Research Enhancement Centre. Octopus cards are accepted for payment.

24-Hour Study Centre (G/F)

This 24x7 centre is equipped with group study rooms and collaborative area to support group work. After Library closes, PolyU staff and students may enter the centre via Core E entrance.

Group Discussion Areas

Discussion Zone 1 & 2 (G/F) are furnished with furniture for groups work. Group Viewing Rooms at 3/F Multimedia Commons are equipped with projectors or LED monitors for presentation preparation. The Multipurpose Hall (P/F) and Research Lounge (5/F) are also available for quiet discussion.

Current Awareness Centre

A lounge-type environment with easy access to new books on display, latest issues of popular magazines, today’s newspapers, and PolyU Reads Collection.


Need a break to refresh your mind? LibCafe provides you with a lively and stimulating atmosphere for social interaction and idea exchange. A wide selection of food, bbeverages and snacks are served a discount.

Learn how to make strategic and effective use of information resources by attending face-to-face workshops or self-paced online tutorials.


Hundreds of PC workstations are provided for multi-purpose use on various floors. A number of iMacs and PCs with graphics software applications are available on the 3/F. Many of them can be reserved one day in advance via iBooking System.

Wi-Fi Services

A free Wi-Fi service by Wi-Fi.HK is provided to all visitors and the general public. To connect, please refer to this set-up instructions. Wi-Fi services provided by Y5Zone and PCCW are also available in the Library. Subscribers may now connect to the internet through those networks. Non-subscribers may purchase a day pass online for temporary use.

Off-campus Access

Selected e-resources can be accessed off-campus through the Library website with your Library Number and PIN.
