Material ConneXion is a global resource for new materials and a knowledge base for information about new and innovative materials. With the content of over 7,500 innovative materials and processes, the database provides users’ access to images, detailed material descriptions, usage characteristics, manufacturer and distributor contact information. It is a resource for all disciplines of design development, including Architecture, Interior Design, Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Fashion, Apparel & Footwear, Exhibition Design and Textile Design.

Library users can now access the resource from workstation 4 & 5 at the Research Enhancement Centre, 3/F, Library.

The display with 1500 real materials is located at PolyU School of design, Material Resource Centre (Room V510, 5/F, V Core, Jockey Club Innovation Tower).

2. Britannica ImageQuest

ImageQuest is a collection of nearly 3 million images from more than 50 collections in the world, including the Bridgeman Art Gallery, Dorling Kindersley Images, Getty Images, the National Portrait Gallery of London, the National Geographic Society, and other leading names joined with Britannica.

3. Masters of Architecture

Masters of Architecture is an ongoing series of colour images from Pidgeon Audiovisual and World Microfilms. The database includes the complete Masters of Architecture series and some additional suitable slide sets with approx. 7,000 images, all fully searchable.
