A primary-source collection of Japanese newspapers, magazines, and periodicals published in the postwar period. It draws heavily on materials from the Gordon W. Prange Collection (the world’s most comprehensive archive of Japanese print media issued during the Allied Occupation, 1945–1949) and extends coverage through 1998. The resource captures the political, social, and cultural transformation of Japan in the decades after World War II, including censorship records, local and national press, and a wide range of serials.
