Help us kick-start READ@PolyU 2019!
Send us your Common Book nominations for a new year of reading.

Now entering its eighth year, READ@PolyU rallies the whole campus to read a common book, and invites all PolyU students to participate in the Book Chat Sessions, book talks, and other fascinating activities designed to enhance the reading experience. What’s more, a free copy of the common book is gifted to full-time first-year undergraduate degree students (on a first come, first served basis) and any PolyU student who pre-registers for a Book Chat Group!
The Programme Committee will review all nominations before making the final selection.
To encourage participation, 50 copies of the selected Common Book will be given out in a lucky draw. PolyU students and staff who have submitted a nomination will be automatically enrolled into the lucky draw. Winners will be notified by email in April.
Submit your favourite book titles, along with the author’s name, to library.read.program@polyu.edu.hk by 31 Jaunary 2019 (Thursday). There is no limit to the number of book titles you can submit.
What we look for in a common book:

「品書知日本」全國徵文大奬賽近日公佈決賽結果,本校紡織及服裝學系王宇翔同學,憑藉作品《亞洲一體化與岡倉天心》在全國賽中榮獲二等獎。

About the Green Deck Project
Neighbouring the heavily-loaded Cross Harbour Tunnel, PolyU has long witnessed problems in the vicinity – poor air quality, overloaded footbridge, poor connectivity within the district and lack of open space. The University has thus proposed the construction of a Green Deck over the Cross Harbor Tunnel plaza to tackle these problems. Linking MTR Hung Hom Station podium, PolyU campus and nearby neighborhoods, the proposed 43,000 sqm. deck area can accommodate a wide variety of recreational, cultural and sports facilities while solving existing problems in the district. This proposal will not only provide people with a green open space to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life, but also help foster sustainable development through a number of research projects undertaken by PolyU experts.
In the seminar,Mr Alex Lui will present the design concepts and the latest developments of the Green Deck project, followed by an open discussion to solicit your views.
