Single Sign-On (SSO) for All Library Services (Coming Soon)
Single Sign-On (SSO) is a convenient service to help users to login multiple Library services by using University NetID and NetPassword. The Library has already implemented SSO in Sep 2015 for current PolyU students and staff such as MyRecord login in OneSearch, remote access to Library e-resources, etc. To further simplify password management for all Library users including CPCE and alumni and library cardholders, the Library is working closely with ITS to implement SSO for all Library services. Starting from early Jul 2017, all Library users may login with NetID and NetPassword to access to the Library services, for examples:
- MyRecord in OneSearch
- Interlibrary Loan Services
- iBooking System
- All Public PC Workstations in the Library
Photography Light Box@Studio
The Library is now offering a photography light box at the Studio@Multimedia Commons. The Light box has a backdrop inside attached at the top and falls down into a gentle curve at the back and across the bottom to create a seamless uniform background. Therefore, multiple LED sources can evenly diffuse light on the object’s surface from different angles in the light box. You can capture the finest and high quality photos of the object in the light box with minimum glare and shadow.
Suggested equipment and setting:
- Use DSLR or Digital Compact camera with no flash
- Set to RAW format for more dynamic range for editing
- Use a tripod for long exposure
Specifications:
- 3 sets LED sources
- 5500K colour temperature
- Backdrop sheet colour: black, white and green
- Size: L80 x W70 x H65cm

Recent Returns of AV Materials
Are you looking for most viewed or popular DVDs? A Recent Returns cart is placed in front of MC counter to keep recently returned DVD and items from users. For new additions or items on display, they will be re-shelved to the relevant display stacks in 15 minutes.
iBooking for REC Research Carrels – Update
Effective from 15 Apr 2017, 13 research carrels of A1-4 and A7-15 in the Research Enhancement Centre (REC) on 3/F are now available for advance booking by all PolyU students. Eligible users can reserve the carrels online one day in advance on iBooking. For more details, please visit the Reservation Policy and Use Guide.
New Colour Scanning Service - Update
To provide more convenient scanning service, two hi-speed scanners for document size up to A3 have been setup in 24 Hour Study Centre (G/F) and Reserve Collection (P/F). For scanning large size of document from A2 to A0, please approach our Technical Support Desk in Research Enhancement Centre (3/F).
