Neville Chamberlain (1869-1940) remains the most famous member of his family because of his controversial "appeasement" policy to keep Europe from plunging into another war. The collection includes his correspondence with Joseph, Austen and other members of the Chamberlain family; his journals, diaries and notebooks; press cuttings, scrapbooks and photograph albums; material on his business activities; correspondence with royalty; material relating to local Birmingham politics and national politics; and other material.
