In addition to being a source of information about the NCUSCT and the development of US-China trade in general, the files have research value on specific aspects of trade such as shipping, packaging, contract negotiations, banking, inspection, and trademarks. The files also have material relating to US-China relations in general, China's trade with other countries, and China's history, culture, and business practices.
