JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments)

JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments) provides a rich collection of animated videos to improve scientific research and education. Bridging between the traditional scientific literature and practical application, this video journal covers topics on biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. It features step-by-step demonstrations of experimental protocols conducted by experts in the field and has two broad collections: Education Collection and Research Collection.

The Education Collection includes:
  • JoVE Core: Video lessons with explanations to key concepts in science and scientist-in-action demonstration of research experiments conducted in laboratories nowadays. Subjects covered include biology, chemistry, physics, and their subfields.
  • JoVE Science Education: Video libraries demonstrating practice and theory of scientific experiments. Besides the basic science subjects, its topics range from System: fundamental laboratory techniques to advanced topics, like neuroscience, genetics, immunology, earth science, and environmental science.
  • JoVE Lab Manual: Integrated videos providing comprehensive and curriculum-focused resources for both instructors and students in introductory biology and chemistry lab courses. Each video contains three parts: Concept Video, Instructor Prep Video with learning objectives, and Student Protocol Video with procedure.

Redefining Reality

"No subject is bigger than reality itself, and nothing is more challenging to understand, since what counts as reality is undergoing continual revision and has been for centuries. For example, the matter that comprises all stars, planets, and living things turns out to be just a fraction of what actually exists. Moreover, we think that we control our actions, but data gathering systems can predict, with astonishing accuracy, when we will get up in the morning, what items we will buy, and even whom we will marry. Food for Change

"Our plate is our most powerful weapon in fighting global warming and in protecting our planet. Today, our diets play a major role in the threats weighing on our planet. But, there is hope. Investigative journalist Benoît Bringer sets off on a global search for women and men who are inventing a new dietary model — one which respects both humankind and nature.

This documentary gives us hope, showing us how we can each be a force for change and develop recipes for an economically viable dietary transition." – From Kanopy
