The subscription to SciVal is provided by IPAO for PolyU Staff and Students only.

SciVal is a strategic analysis tool to gather and analyze bibliometric records extracted from Scopus, which indexes international peer‐reviewed scholarly publications. Researchers can use the tools in SciVal to identify and analyze emerging topics in a research area, track collaboration patterns etc. Institutions can also use SciVal to analyze research performance and conduct analysis by benchmarking against other similar institutions.

*To use SciVal, you will have to register for a personal account first. If you have previously registered a personal account for another Elsevier product, like Scopus or ScienceDirect, you can use the same account to login to SciVal. If you have not created a personal account before, click on “Create account” to create a new login.


Important Notes:

  • Users should not use Virtual Private Network (VPN) service when accessing e-resources from off campus. This may trigger suspension of user's account.
  • For security reason, you are advised to change NetPassword regularly via IdPortal and follow the password rules. Please visit the ITS website for details.
