“Vote for Your Favourite Chair”

Thanks to users’ feedback, we have received 840 responses in the “Vote for your Favourite Chair” event held from 5-15 Apr 2016. Five existing chairs were displayed on P/F for trial and selection. The most favourite chair model has received 612 votes.  This chair model, with or without castors, will be considered for replacing the old study chairs in some newly refurbished study areas.  

Discussion Zone 1 (G/F) and L114 (1/F) - Renovation

To support the use of portable devices, more power outlets will be added in G/F Discussion Zone 1 and the quiet study area in 1/F Room L114 this summer. In addition, Room L114 will be refurbished with new study tables and chairs as well as new carpet.
 

Discussion Zone 2 (G/F) – Refurbishment

To enhance the environment of Discussion Zone 2 on G/F, the Library will refurbish this area with better furniture, new carpet and new wall finishes.

HDMI Cables in Group Rooms

HDMI cables are provided in all group study rooms or viewing rooms to facilitate users in connecting their notebook PCs to the video monitor for discussion or presentation preparation. However, frequent cable damages are reported that greatly affect users in using these rooms and the monitors. While the Library has been finding a better way to avoid easy damage, users are reminded to handle these HDMI cables with care and report any use problem to 3/F Technical Support Desk or the nearest counter.
