Ozone Air Cleaner in Every Washrooms

Ozone Air Cleaners have been installed in all Library washrooms to improve the air quality and to reduce the odors. The installation works were completed at the end of Mar 2017. In order to further improve the environment of the Library washrooms in the long run, the Campus Development Office and Facilities Management Office will also seek professional advice to review the washroom facilities including ventilation, capacity and the ratio of male and female washrooms in future renovations when funding is available.

Signage Revamp

The Library has coordinated with a design consultancy company to develop a new unified signage system to enhance the navigation and wayfinding in the building. Installation works of Phase 1 signage have been completed, e.g. translucent film signage for designated rooms, overhead signage at Library side entrance, and floor directories for G/F to 3/F, etc.

Renovation project on 4/F and 5/F

The Library Extension and Revitalization Project for adding one more level and renovating the existing Library areas is still pending government funding support. To meet the imminent pedagogical needs of students and technological advances, 4/F and 5/F will be refurbished and repurposed with funding support from the University. The renovation work of Room L404 (4/F) and Room L505 (5/F) will be conducted in this summer, and Room L401 (4/F) and Room L501 (5/F) in the summer of 2018. More collaborative areas and individual study spaces with new furniture will be provided to enhance the study environment.
