READ@PolyU is a campus-wide common reading programme in which all PolyU full-time first-year undergraduate students will read the same book. It is designed to foster a reading culture across the University and to create a sense of community among freshmen in their new environment.

  • The Common Book 2015/16

The best-selling book The Fault in Our Stars, published in 2012, is a novel about a 17-year-old cancer-fighting girl and her romance story.

The book has gained places on several bestseller lists, including Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Within a year of publication, more than 1 million copies were in print. The novel has been translated into 10 languages, and the film adaptation was released in 2013, which hit the box office worldwide.

The book is more than a romance story – it is a story about life and death. It is hoped that students treasure their new university life, not fear of getting hurt, and make the best out of it.
