Rapido – Enhancement of HKALL and Interlibrary Loan Services

Embedded in the Library’s discovery tool (OneSearch), the new Rapido resource sharing system expands the access to books, book chapters and articles beyond the PolyU collection. It simplifies the process of HKALL and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services, enables PolyU students and staff to track delivery status of their requests and submit renewal requests easily.

Digital Scholarship Services – Embracing Digital Transformation of Learning and Scholarly Research

The Library’s Digital scholarship services provide digital tools, support and resources for researchers and students to engage in innovative digital projects and to embrace digital transformation in their learning and scholarly research. These services are made possible through specialised software, high-performance PCs, equipment for digitisation service, self-service studios and Digital Visualisation Room at i-Space (4/F North Wing) and 3/F (North Wing), as well as collaboration in digital humanities projects.

Self-service Studios for Video/Sound Recording and Multimedia Production

With simplified and user-friendly setup, five new studios at 3/F North Wing including two One Button Studios, two Sound Recording Studios and one Multimedia Production Studio enable students and staff to produce video contents quickly and easily regardless of technological proficiency. These self-service studios have come into service since February 2023 and marked another milestone for the Library Extension and Revitalisation Project (LER).

Library Online Courses and Workshops – Join Now!

This new academic year, the Library offers three self-paced online courses for students and staff to acquire the information and skills essential to their studies and research, including the use of citation management tool – EndNote 20. New Online Service to support JULAC (Joint University Librarians Advisory Committee) Library Card Application

Eligible students and staff may now apply for a JULAC Library Card online to access and use the resources and facilities offered by eight member libraries including The University of Hong Kong Libraries, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Library, City University of Hong Kong Library, etc.

Newly Acquired Online Video Collections and Databases

More media-rich learning resources and online databases, which include BBC collections, data science online courses, research methods video collections, Chinese e-books in various subjects and Chinese local gazetteers, etc., have been added to the Library’s collection in support of online learning and teaching.
