New Feature Stories of Outstanding Work by Students

The PolyU Outstanding Work by Students (OWS) exhibition and online portal showcase stories about award-winning work and inspiring projects by students, as well as videos capturing their learning experiences. Four new feature stories are now exhibited on the Library Podium Floor and the OWS online portal. The physical exhibition is on display this summer until early October 2021.

 

1. Innovative AI Digital Maker It is an award-winning project developed by a student from the Faculty of Business and his teammate from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The innovative budget approval system can make the approval initialising by the AI screening before the human judgement. The team won the Championship in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) STEM Challenge (Customer Experience).
2. An Audible Landscape It is an outstanding final year project written by a student from the Faculty of Humanities. The author has expressed her love of language and society through the article.
3. Chek Lap Sans It is an outstanding typeface design by a student from the School of Design. Chek Lap Sans is a Chinese typeface designed specifically for lightbox signage of the Hong Kong International Airport, aiming for both functionality and personality. The typeface was honoured with the First Place Student Prize in The World’s Best Typography.
4. Exciting Line-up for the International Conference The 2019 APacCHRIE & EuroCHRIE cum 4th Global Tourism and Hospitality Conference was hosted by a team of students from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management. The event was well-received and attracted over 700 attendees from all over the world including academics, industry leaders and young scholars.
