Metaverse + AI Contest: 2025/26 Winner Highlights & New Challenge Opportunities for 2026/27


Co-organised by the Department of Computing and the Library, with the generous sponsorship of the Shun Hing Education & Charity Fund, the 2025/26 Metaverse + AI Contest successfully concluded with a vibrant prize presentation ceremony on 21 July 2026.

The Metaverse + AI Contest invites students to leverage Generative AI in the creation of immersive virtual environments that transform approaches to connection, collaboration, and learning.

This year’s competition saw intense engagement as contestants showcased extraordinary creativity and technical skill by building immersive VR games using advanced AI tools. The judging panel was thoroughly impressed by the high standard and ingenuity of the submitted projects.

New Challenge: Metaverse + AI Contest 2026/27


Building on the contest’s success and evolution, we are happy to announce the continuation of the Metaverse + AI Contest for 2026/27, marking the ninth year of this long-running initiative.

The contest aims to encourage students to advance technological innovation by integrating Generative AI into their Metaverse projects. Students may compete individually or as part of a team, presenting their ability to design immersive virtual spaces that reimagine interaction and learning.
