Express Book Checkout Kiosk at 4/F South Wing

In an attempt to incorporate emerging technologies into the borrowing service, the i-Space of the Library has recently built an Express Book Checkout Kiosk to improve user experience during checkout. As a pilot project, an Express Book Checkout Kiosk is installed near the lift lobby area at 4/F South Wing. With the use of Internet-of-Things (IoT) emerging technologies such as Raspberry Pi and PN5180 RFID/NFC reader module, Library users can borrow books more conveniently in proximity to bookshelves by themselves. Simply follow the on-screen instructions and check out the books with your student/staff card. When the transaction is completed, you will receive an email notification for the borrowed items, with details of your loans and related due dates.
