Share Your Research Data on the PolyU Research Data Repository


What is PolyU Research Data Repository? 

PolyU Research Data Repository is a platform launched in Fall 2024, designed for PolyU members to deposit, manage, and share valuable research data for open access.  It aims to promote global discovery and reuse of research data generated by PolyU researchers. 

 

Why share data on PolyU Research Data Repository? 

Sharing data on the PolyU Research Data Repository can: 

  • Preserve your research data for future sharing and reuse 
  • Facilitate peer review and meet requirements set by funders and journals 
  • Enhance your research visibility and impact 
  • Demonstrate your commitment to research integrity 
  • Showcase your profile, including your research data and relevant publications 
  • Foster further collaboration and generate new insights from your research data 

Who are eligible? 

Academic and Research Staff, as well as Administrative Staff of equivalent status (ARA), can deposit and manage their data after creating a master (personal) folder.  Research Postgraduate Students can also share their data, provided they have been granted rights by their supervisor(s) to work within designated folders. 

 

What to share? 

PolyU researchers can share a variety of research data in the PolyU Research Data Repository.  This includes, but is not limited to:  

  • Tabular files 
  • Audiovisual materials 
  • Consolidated survey responses 
  • Experimental results 
  • Data consolidated from historical documents 
  • Discipline-specific resources 
  • Analytical algorithms.  

Please note that book chapters, journal articles, presentation slides, and posters should be deposited in the PolyU Institutional Research Archive. 

 

How to share research data on PolyU Research Data Repository? 

Academic and Research Staff, as well as Administrative Staff of equivalent status, can create a master (personal) folder using this application formA folder will be generated for you upon completion of the form.  You can log into your account via the Repository to create and manage your data within your master (personal) folder.   

Research Postgraduate Students can be granted permission by their supervisors to deposit datasets within the supervisor’s master (personal) folder.

A workshop on Effective Use of PolyU Research Data Repository was conducted in December 2024.  You may review the training materials to familiarise yourself with key features of the Repository.
