To enhance your learning and research, the Library is offering a series of workshops and four different online courses this new semester. These programmes are designed to help you effectively utilise information and Library resources. Discover how to get the most out of our resources and become a proficient and confident information user!
Library Workshops
All year round, the Library offers workshops on a variety of topics. These workshops aim to guide you through every step of the research process—from building essential academic skills, searching and discovering resources, collecting and analysing data, to citing sources and supporting publishing and intellectual property.

Library Online Courses
Are you ready to elevate your learning and research skills? The Library offers four self-paced online courses to PolyU students and staff.
Whether you want to master library resources, understand ethical information use, manage your research data, or get started with EndNote 21, we have got you covered.
Here is a brief overview of each course:
- Mastering Library Resources for Learning, Research, and Academic Success
This online course is perfect for students to get familiar with library resources for learning and research.
- [NEW] Ethical Use of Information in Thesis Writing & Journal Publication: Understanding Plagiarism, Proper Citation, and Copyright
Tailored for postgraduate students and early-career researchers, this course provides essential knowledge and practical skills on ethical use of information in thesis writing and journal publishing.
- Fundamentals of Research Data Management
Ideal for research staff and postgraduate students, this course offers fundamental knowledge and practical skills on managing research data throughout the research life cycle.
- Using EndNote 21
Designed for those new to EndNote with minimal or no prior knowledge of the reference management tools, this course covers the latest enhancements and key features of EndNote 21, including how to insert references from various sources and how to cite them in a Word document.
