With the generous sponsorship of the Shun Hing Education & Charity Fund, the Department of Computing and the Library co-organised the Second Metaverse Contest for 2024/25. Seventeen teams, comprising students from different disciplines, showcased their remarkable talent and creativity. The competition was fierce, and we were truly impressed by the innovative projects presented. Following a thorough review by the judges, the prize presentation ceremony was successfully held on 16 July 2025.

  Following the success of the Metaverse Contest 2024/25, we are thrilled to announce that this innovative and inspiring event will continue in the new academic year 2025/26. This year, the contest will encourage participants to integrate artificial intelligence, as a new element, into their Metaverse projects. Once again, the contest will provide a unique platform for students to showcase their creativity and technical prowess—now with the added challenge of leveraging AI technologies. Whether competing individually or in teams, participants will have the opportunity to design and implement immersive virtual environments that push the boundaries of how we interact, study, and learn.
