Black Rainstorm, Typhoon and Extreme Conditions Hours

Typhoon No. 8 Signal or Above

The Library and the 24-Hour Study Centre will close immediately once it is announced that Typhoon No. 8 Signal or above is issued, or likely to be issued within two hours.  Both facilities will remain closed when the Signal is in force.

Black Rainstorm Warning Signal

If the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued when the Library is open, the Library will remain open until its normal closing time.  If the Signal is issued before the Library opens, the Library will remain closed.

The 24-Hour Study Centre will remain open for after-hour access after the Library closes.

Extreme Conditions Announcement

The Library will remain closed when the Announcement issued by the Government is in force.

If the Announcement is issued after the 24-Hour Study Centre is open for after-hour access, the Centre will remain open to provide a temporary safe shelter for PolyU students or staff who have already entered the Centre before the Announcement is issued.  If the Announcement is issued before the Centre is open for after-hour access, the Centre will remain closed.
