  • Project Report: New Facilities Trial Zone
  • As part of the Library Revitalization Project, new furniture and 85 new research carrels will be available for use in March/April 2011. To ensure the design of these facilities meet the expectation of our users, the Library had set up a "New Facilities Trial Zone" with display boards about the Project at the future location of the Cafe Area from mid- October to the end of November 2010. A number of new facilities and furniture were put on display for users' comments:

     Real size research carrel mock-ups;
     Single seater sofa and coffee table;
     Stackable chairs for the Exhibition Area;
     Gas-lift chair for both the G/F and 3/F;
     120 degree workstation for the IT Lounge;
     L-shaped desk for the research carrel;
     Foldable rectangular desk and trapezium table with castors for the User Education Rooms.

    Users were invited to try on those furniture and indicate their preferences by casting their votes at the computer kiosk set-up there or email their comments to our Suggestion Box.
