Resources for Quantitative Research

In the process of generating new knowledge in the academic community, different types of researches are used in different disciplines, e.g., action research, marketing research, focus group, case study, etc. All these fall into two main approaches: qualitative research and quantitative research. According to Cramer & Howitt (2004, p.133), quantitative research is commonly used and, in general, it attempts to summarize data and describe the relationship found using number. Statistics, tables and graphs, are often used to present the results of these methods.

This Topical Research Guide attempts to provide basic information for PolyU students and researchers who may conduct quantitative researches. Keep this guide handy as your partner in research work.
