Topical Workshops (offered in Oct - Dec and Feb - May)

Topical workshops are offered regularly each semester to staff and students of PolyU so as to sharpen their research techniques in locating, evaluating and managing information. Topics include:

  • OneSearch and Advanced Techniques for Searching Classic Library Catalogue
  • Surfing the Internet for Useful Information
  • Citing Reference & Avoiding Plagiarism
  • Using EndNote
  • Citation Databases
  • Library Resources and Services for Postgraduate Students
 

Request Library Workshops

  1. Request by Faculty members
     

    Upon request by faculty staff, we are available to provide customized workshops on strategic use of library resources and introduce students to library research in a specific discipline or course assignment. As these workshops require considerable preparation time, please make advance arrangement with the Section Head of Information Services or call 2766-6858.

  2. Request by students
     

    The Library regularly offers various topical workshops such as:

    1. Accessing E-Book & E-journal Collections of the PolyU Library
    2. Online Tools for Assignment Writing
    3. Accessing Dissertations Around the World
    4. Finding h-index and Managing Author Profiles

Depending on the number of students, we may arrange an Information Consultancy Session or a Library Workshop on your specified topics upon your request. Please fill out the request form here.
