Situated on the Third Floor of the Library, the Media Services Section houses a great number of AV carrels and group rooms for in-house use of audiovisual materials. All audiovisual materials, except those restricted by copyright or for technical reason, are available for loan outside the Library.

Note : Each AV item loaned from the Library is counted as a loan item in the user's circulation record.  The total loan items including AV materials should not exceed the overall maximum loan quota allowed for each user.

Advance Booking of AV Materials for Class Teaching

Academic staff who need to use an AV item for teaching on a specific date can make reservation in advance at the Media Services Counter or by phone at ext.6870 / 6871 / 6884 / 6880.

PCs with Microsoft Applications

Besides those PCs in the Photocopying Unit for printing purpose, a number of carrels are set up with PCs, Microsoft Office applications as well as headphones in the Media Services Section. They are available for borrowing for up to 3 hours.

Microform Printing Facilities

Users can use the microform scanners to scan microfiches and microfilm to e-files and print to the network printer at $0.2 per page. Direct printing from the microform printer is also available at $0.5 per page.
