Knowledge Discovery in the Library and Beyond - Part 2

Dear Programme leaders and colleagues

Many thanks for those who have registered for our Part I Library Orientation for New Students sessions.  We are pleased that students who attended the sessions have attained good scores in our end of the session quiz.  Please download the quiz questions and the details of assessment results from the library website [NetID is required for off-campus access].  The Library has worked to strengthen the teaching objectives and to ensure that the assessments of actual learning are reported to you.

To empower the students to succeed in their academic lives, we have prepared Part II of knowledge discovery.  The following link shows content of an information skills session that is aimed to enhance students’ ability in information searching and management.  http://www.lib.polyu.edu.hk/orientation/knowledgediscovery.html

If you want to further equip your students with information literacy skills, please feel free to contact your Faculty/Schools Librarian for more details and any other arrangement that fit your needs.  Again, the learning objectives will be clearly established upfront in consultation with you while the learning outcomes will also be assessed at the conclusion of the sessions.

We welcome your involvement in this excellent programme as we endeavour to work with you and your students to ensure Information Literate graduates.

Every Best Wish
