Professor Derek Law has worked in several British universities and published and spoken at conferences extensively. Most of his work has been to do with the development of networked resources in higher education and with the creation of national information policy. This has been combined with an active professional life in professional organisations related to librarianship and computing. A committed internationalist he has been involved in projects and research in over forty countries. He was awarded the Barnard prize for contributions to Medical Informatics in 1993, Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1999, an honorary degree by the Sorbonne in 2000, the IFLA medal in 2003, Honorary Fellowship of CILIP in 2004 and was an OCLC Distinguished Scholar in 2006. He is currently Chair of the new JISC Services Management Company and continues to teach and write.

Choy Fatt Cheong is University Librarian at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He began his career in librarianship at the National University of Singapore in 1984 and moved on to the Ministry of Defence in 1991 as Chief Librarian of SAFTI Military Institute. He was Principal Lecturer and Course Manager of Information Studies at Temasek Polytechnic from 1995 to 2000. He left the Polytechnic to set up his own consultancy and training company in 2000 and worked on various projects until 2004 when he assumed his current position. He also taught at the Division of Information Studies at NTU as Adjunct Associate Professor in 2003. He was President of the Library Association of Singapore (LAS) from 1997 to March 2005 and served as a member of the Board of Directors at the Singapore National Library Board (NLB) for 6 years until 2003. Currently he serves as a Trustee of the Library Fund of NLB, a Board member of IATUL (International Association of Technological University Libraries) and as Chairman of the Working Committee of the LAS Professional Development Scheme.

Vic Elliott is Director, Scholarly Information Services and University Librarian at The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He is currently a member of the Steering Committee of the Australian National Data Service (ANDS), a delegate for Asia Pacific on the OCLC Global Council, and a member of the Board of CLOCKSS. He previously served as University Librarian at the University of Tasmania (1998-2003) and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand (1986-1997).

Ian Smith is Manager of the Administrative Change Program, a large scale organisational change program at La Trobe University, Australia (more information at here). Ian took on this role in 2008 following an extensive career as an HR manager and librarian in the Australian higher education sector.
Ian has particular interests in staff development & workplace learning and organisational change & development. These interests are reflected in Ian’s postgraduate studies – in public policy and human resource management.
Ian has played an active role in the work of the International Federation of Library Associations – most recently as Chair of the Continuing Professional Development & Workplace Learning Section and Co-convenor of the E-Learning Discussion Group. He has been active in researching and publishing reports on staff development policy and practice in Australian and UK academic and research libraries and has been a regular writer on human resources development and organisational change for the Library Management journal.

Geoffrey Bilder is Director of Strategic Initiatives at CrossRef, and has over 16 years experience as a technical leader in scholarly technology. He co-founded Brown University's Scholarly Technology Group in 1993, providing the Brown academic community with advanced technology consulting in support of their research, teaching and scholarly communication. He was subsequently head of IT R&D at Monitor Group, a global management consulting firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. From 2002 to 2005, Geoffrey was Chief Technology Officer of scholarly publishing firm Ingenta, and just prior to joining CrossRef, he was a Publishing Technology Consultant at Scholarly Information Strategies, where he consulted extensively with publishers and librarians on emerging social software technologies and how they may affect scholarly and professional researchers.

Dr Churchill specializes in areas of educational technology, instructional design, e-learning and multimedia. His experience involves classroom and on-line teaching, instructional design, multimedia design and academic staff development. He has strong interest in teacher professional development, technology integration in education, e-learning, learning objects, student-centered learning environments, Web 2.0 in education, mobile learning, learning objects, active lessons.

Kate Nevins is the Chief Executive Officer at Lyrasis. Prior to this, she was the Executive Director at SOLINET since 1994. Her previous experience includes positions at OCLC, the Library at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York, and the Christiansted Public Library in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She has facilitated library cooperative planning and program development with numerous organizations in the U.S., Africa, and Australia.

Professor Zhu is the Director of Peking University Library, and was the Director of the Library of Shenzhen University. He has also served in a broad range of library-related organizations: the Administrative Center of the China Academic Library & Information System (CALIS), the National Library and Information Committee for Universities and Colleges, the Steering Committee for Academic Libraries of China, the Journal of Academic Libraries, the Academic Library Association for Serials Research, the Standing Committee of China Society of Library Science, and the Regional Standing Committee for Asia and Oceana, IFLA. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign during 1994 and 1995 and has published more than 60 professional papers.
